I found out today I am “cleared for worldwide availability.” In plain English – I received medical clearance. I had my security interview last week and all seemed to go well. My investigator was very optimistic about the speed in which I would receive clearance, but I’m not holding my breath. Most likely we will be leaving for DC in September, but I guess there is a chance for August. Hopefully we don’t go past September because Congress isn’t looking too favorable at the Foreign Service budget and hiring may suffer in FY 2011 (starting October 2010).
We have found a house in Des Moines. We will be living in the Mulberry Lofts in one of the furnished penthouses. It is a pretty nice place and we are both excited to be downtown for the summer.
